WMP Plays DJ
Windows Media Player 11 users have probably found the Auto Playlist tool, which is a nifty way to populate a playlist without resorting to playing all your tracks at random. I found an even easier way. There's one key setting: Under Options | Privacy; you'll need to clear the box marked Save file and URL history in the Player. Now, with your Now Playing list blank, press the Play button. Voilà! The list is instantly populated with around 8 hours of tunes, by a smart playlist generator that takes into account user ratings, auto ratings, play counts, recently added, and more.
yPlay
from Freeware Home -- new additions
yPlay is a freeware MP3, Ogg*, WMA, WAV, FLAC* and Midi player with multiple playlists and a light, clean interface. You can quickly find and play a particular track or playlist, there's a filter built into the main screen - type in part of the title or artist and the list will only display matching tracks. Double-click the track you want, close the player to the system tray and forget about it.
